How to grow BABY watermelon?
🌊 1. Soaking Seeds:
Mix water in a 2 hot : 3 cold ratio, soak seeds for 3-4 hours. If seeds develop a slimy coating, rinse thoroughly and replace with fresh water.
🌱 2. Germinating Seeds:
Spread seeds evenly on tissue paper, cotton wool, or thin fabric. Cover with another layer and mist with water to keep moist. Wrap with plastic wrap or place in an airtight bag, then store in a dark place.
👉 Check after 48 hours—if seeds sprout, sow immediately. Continue checking every 2 days until all seeds have germinated (germination time may vary by seed type).
🌿 3. Sowing Seeds:
Prepare soil in the ratio: 5 garden soil - 3 decomposed cow manure - 2 coconut coir or use pre-mixed soil.
Fill a container (pot, seedling tray, or plastic box with a lid) with soil.
Sow seeds at a depth of 0.3-0.5 cm (3 times the seed’s diameter).
Mist the soil and cover with a lid.
Place in a lightly shaded spot.
💧 Water every 2 days or when the surface is dry. Once seedlings reach 7-10 cm with firm stems, transplant them to larger spaces.
🛑 4. Seed Storage:
Store leftover seeds in an airtight bag or jar in the refrigerator’s cool compartment for up to 6-7 months depending on the seed type.
